Medicare Advantage Present'n @ SALON - 5

At the Lloyd House Wednesday Night Pot Luck Salon this week we will hear a presentation by Dan Finke on the Medicare Advantage program, why you’d like to enroll in this and how to evaluate the competing programs offered by Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Humana, United Health Care, et al.
Medicare Advantage programs purport to give you and them “free lunch”.  We’ll see.  They receive from Medicare a lump sum in exchange for handling all the claims.  Many programs offer you more benefits than regular Medicare coverage without any premium!  Things like dental coverage and membership fees to your health club, alternative and complimentary modalities like  homeopathy.  Sounds too good to be true, and maybe it is.  We’ll see on Wednesday night.

Join us for the pot luck (every Wednesday at 5:45 until 8... ~ yes even on Christmas Eve~ great discussion, great food) or just come at 6:15 to listen to Dan.  Park on Lafayette Avenue to prevent congestion in the drive, unless you have physical disability.

Who should attend?  Anyone over 65 (because they are already on Medicare); anyone 63 or more (because you soon will be); anyone who is or might become responsible for a person over 65 or who has some disability entitling them to Medicare at younger ages.

I don’t know about you, but I am frankly bewildered by the Medicare health insurance jungle... Advantage?  Gap insurance?  I’ve just been on the straight no-frills plan.
