Mr. G.  article in NY Times about the health advantages of homosexual partnership.  See http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/10/health/10well.html?em&ex=1213329600&en=ac28f983a31a6e38&ei=5087%0A “Gay partnerships shed light on gender in marriage” .  Things like women picking up too much of the housework ... Less likely to happen in gay relationships.

Mr. G.  Possible topic: now that the primary is over, we have clear differences between Rep. and Dem.  Do we negotiate with other countries with or without pre conditions?  This could expand to personal relationships.  Is it healthier to have preconditions when you have divergent views?

Brooke  I was going to propose impeachment.  Kucinich’ proposal for impeachment of Bush was read today on the floor of House.  But Nancy Pelosi is against it.

Mr. G.  I heard an argument against impeachment... Because you are late in the second term...
Roy  It could keep us from bombing Iran.  The heads of the Air force were sacked.

Gerry  11 Pakistani soldiers accidentally killed by US bombing  near border.  Pakistani gov’t condemning.

Braden  How can Osama bin Laden still be alive, he needs dialysis ?

    Bob soldiers now on Prozac...

Marvin  1) you need to see “the Great American Trailer Park Musical” at the ensemble theater. ... Sunday Matinee.  Very fun.  2) Gerry and I have moved; totally new experience for us, first move in 47 years.  It is a big test to your resilience.  So many details!  Wonderful moving experience.  3) there are some prof. women who believe it is never too late to have a child.  My daughter in law the Rabbi, 42 is having a child in November.

Mira Ohio should come out against green house gasses, global warming.  Earthwatch Ohio new issue is out.  Also have copies of Central Ohio River Valley food guide.  ... There is some sickening, disgusting defamation of Obama on the internet...
Derek  I have 1 acre produce garden, very productive.

Bob  The Copenhagen Consensus center, article in Wall St. Journal.  Best way to use money to sole global problems.  Google “Copenhagen Consensus Center”.  They discuss women’s rights, global warming, ... All sorts of issues.  ... Give Vit. A and zinc supplements to poor countries.  ... Global warming mitigation.  ... A little money can go a long way over period of time ...  But it implies that the US should be off the hook re. global warming.  I will send the article as a pdf file to anyone who askes.  bobwit@earthlink.net

Mary  The herbalist looked in my eyes and did muscle testing... Adrenal stress... B vitamin.

Braden  I just heard from Phillip Lititz, spiritual teacher of mine.  Willing to come here to salon next Wed.  Is a grad of Antioch.  Studied under Baba Muktananda.  20 years in India.  Phillip is bringing the mahaschwari process; a two day retreat, preparation for another 2 day retreat by his Indian teacher, witnessing the Divine Mother ... Female aspect of the divine.  The only two retreats in US will be in California and in Cincinnati June 28.  (See announcement below.)
    Miraculous stuff.
... I am bringing “the heart of now” workshop to Cinti.  From Oregon.  Healing past traumas; empowering ourselves; community building.  Aug. 2.  But Mon June 23 at Imago we are having an “experience night”, finding what we are passionate about, connecting with other people.  I did an “experience night” a couple years ago, and it was wonderful; eventually went to Oregon to experience “the heart of now” and it was really empowering, wonderful.

    Brooke  Muse concert this Sat.

Gerry  Tomorrow at 9:30 WVXU on recycling, with Roxanne Qualls.
Roy the only way recycling is economical is if it is “source separated”.  If they have to pay people to sort it, it becomes infeasible.  In Europe in every street corner there are bins for plastic, cans, paper.  They have competitions with the next town on who recycled the most.

    ~ End of Table Notes~
    Hugs to everyone,
    Ellen

    Section Two: Events & Opportunities

    From IJPC

As rhetoric increases about Iran . . .we are forwarding this action alert from The Campaign for a New American Policy on Iran. There was a national call in day yesterday, but calls are still important today and throughout this week.

DIRECT DIALOGUE INSTEAD OF WAR WITH IRAN
Tell Congress You Want Direct Dialogue Not War with Iran

The same people who called for attacking Iraq now are raising the drumbeat for military action against Iran. Despite the November 2007 U.S. National Intelligence Estimate concluding that Iran had halted its nuclear weapons program, the Bush administration is bolstering its case for war by labeling Iran one of the greatest threats to American security.

BOMBING IRAN WOULD BRING DISASTROUS CONSEQUENCES.

        The entire Middle East likely would descend into further violence putting the well-being of innumerable civilians at risk.
        U.S. standing in the world would plummet and oil prices would soar.
        A U.S. attack would only strengthen hardliners in Iran.

Current U.S. policies are not working. Threats of military attacks and regime change, while refusing to talk with Iran until they stop enriching uranium is only heightening tensions.

CALL YOUR CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVES!

To speak with your Member of Congress, call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask for your Senators' and/or Representative's office.

 Tell them to work for direct, unconditional, and comprehensive talks
between the U.S. and Iran;
 The U.S. and Iran share common interests in a stable Iraq, Middle East andAfghanistan.
 The U.S. pursued negotiations with North Korea and Libya—it’s time to talk
with Iran.

Tell your Congressional leaders that you want dialogue not war!

Philip Lipetz, teacher of the Datatreya Path (Hindu Tradition) @ the Salon next Wednesday 6/18

(From Braden Trauth.  Braden is that cool young man (tall, thin, blond, pony tail) who presented on Permaculture at the salon in April and also led the Permaculture certification course here.  Ellen).

Philip will be coming to the Salon next week to speak about the Divine Mother Experience that will be coming to Cincinnati on June 28th & 29th. This is a very rare event to occur in the Western World and will be the first (and possibly only) time this process will be offered in the US (read more under Announcements).
I have been studying with Philip since January of this year and have been totally amazed by the process of the Datatreya path that he teaches. He is the first teacher I've ever studied with in person, since I tend to have a very skeptical mind about spiritual teachers, especially those you pay for. Although I have paid a relatively minimal fee for studying with Philip (after all the guy does have to eat!), it is only through divine guidance that I have chosen to continue my study with Philip, as seems to be the case with his eleven other dedicated students that have been studying with him for the last year here  in Cincinnati.
Beyond my personal experiences of studying with Philip he has quite an amazing spiritual and work resume, which I can pass along if anyone has interest or you can come next week and meet him in person!
I hope to see you there next week, until then
peace & many blessings

Experience Mother Divine     June 28th & 29th in Cincinnati

The Divine Mother is seen as the creator aspect of the physical realm in most every spiritual tradition. This is no different in the Hindu Tradition. To experience her is one of the highest experiences one can have in this physical realm since she is the point where the unmanifest manifests into creation. This experience is what Philip will be  bringing to Cincinnati, one of two locations (the other in Laytonville CA) for the first of a 2 part process, which will culminate in Laytonville in Northern California in Mid-September. Swami Kaleshwar, a young enlightened teacher of the highest degree & Philips Spiritual teacher (Kaleshwar.org), will be traveling from India to Laytonville, to conclude this rare process. This Process is open to anyone and does not require them to give up or adopt any new religious traditions, which is the beauty of it. This will be quite an amazing opportunity for the residents of this fair city and region!
If you would like to learn more please contact Braden or come to the Salon next week 6/18 and hear Philip speak about the process.  Braden Trauth

    JUNE 28-29
    Taking Torture to TASSC
Following UN Torture Abolition Day there will be a 24 hour vigil sponsored by Torture Abolition Survivor Support  Coalition opposite the White House, on Saturday June 28  to Sunday, June 29; Washington, D.C.
As our nation struggles with the realization of our complicity in the use of torture for political purposes, sisters of the Ursuline Society are inviting friends and concerned citizens to join us in
    peaceful public protest.
Inspired by the experience of Ursuline Sister Dianna Ortiz, who founded a Center for receiving other torture survivors, we choose to witness to the injustice of these practices, to state our moral outrage, and to demand a change of national policy.
Sister Dianna, founder of TASSC, in her book, The Blindfold's Eye, recounts her experience of torture as well as her effort to work with the US government in identifying the details of her case.
Google TASSC for information on this ministry.
Contact Sr. Pat Brockman for details on this venture at 513.541.4559,or
