Our House - art opening [Friday 6 November @ 5-9 PM]: Columbia-Tusculum resident, artist & musician Cynthia Matyi will be featured in a solo exhibit, emphasizing about 30 of her original oil impressions of Columbia-Tusculum Victorian houses. "
While the Victorian style has a definite character range, each house is so unique that I never tire of depicting the 'painted ladies' in their entire splendor." Room Service - the photographic story of 3 hotel rooms [thru Friday 20 November @ 11 AM - 6 PM]: Room Service is the work of local photographer Deogracias Lerma. This photographic installation takes you behind the scenes of 3 different rooms in 3 different hotels with 3 different women. Each room tells a story of the ‘transaction’ taking place within its walls, but in the end, the same story. Deogracias is a Cincinnati based photographer who specializes in portraits, theatre & dance. He worked under Annie Leibovitz while cultivated his own perspective & style. New Manifest Calls for Entry:  BURB is an international competitive exhibit of works in any medium exploring zones of living. By the end of the 20th century, suburbia became the place where over half of all Americans live & work: backyard BBQs, super-size shopping boxes, mini-vans & cul-de-sacs. Manifest invites work in any medium that responds to this modern construct: suburbia. Postmark deadline for entry is Friday 11 December. Exhibit is Jan 22 to Feb 19. International Drawing Annual 5 (INDA5) is a competitive annual publication of works of contemporary drawing & writing about drawing to recognize, document & publish excellent, current & relevant works of drawing from around the world. Miami University Italian Cinema Series 2009 [Tuesdays thru 8 December @ 7:30 PM]: See some of the essential Italian film classics accompanied by discussion, led by Professor Sante Matteo, who curated & presents the series in conjunction with the Italian cinema course he teaches at Miami University. Unless noted, the spoken language is Italian, with English subtitles. Beginning with
