Weekly 10/14/10 ~ 12

The Lloyd House Wednesday Night Salon WEEKLY
(See at the end of this email for introductory material)

SECTION ONE: TABLE NOTES

Around the Judy, Jonathan, Viddle, Mr. G., Mira, Vlasta, Sophia, Charles.
At the Table: Mr. G., Judy Cirillo, Charles Griffin, Ellen Bierhorst, Sophia Yarden, Jonathan Rosenberg, Julia Yarden, Viddle,  Vlasta Molak, Mira Rodwan, Debbi S.

Mr. G.:
Ellen:  Chilean miners, ...
Judy:
Pete Altekreuse died.  Service at St John's oct  18 at 7 pm.
... You can pick up at the library the "Who and What" of the election, by the League of Women Voters.

Vlasta:  the rescued miners agreed that they would share equally in any wealth that may come from the publicity, book deals, etc.
I want to read something.  We have lost two salonistas this year, Dan Hershey and Joan Friedlander, and now Pete Altekreuse.  My friend, Edith Carter, 96, an Auschwitz survivor, from Czechoslovakia.  Her husband and daughter died in the camp.  Two Lives, written about her.  She was an activist.  "Perseverance... Y ou have that drive to hold on to what you promised... Education... Give them also ethical and moral education ... The right of all people to live a free life.  Caring, more compassion; .  Take action, do not be bystanders, don't wait for someone else to take action."

... Debate yesterday,  Lee Fisher creamed Rob Portman, but should have done it more.  Senatorial Candidates.

Mira:  is it true that the national Dems are pulling out support for Driehaus.

Vlasta: I saw Driehaus on NPR and he sounded good.  Chabot sounded terrible.  He is not very bright.

Rep. Steve Driehaus (D-Oh)

©2009 Associated Press.

CINCINNATI - The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has pulled $500,000 worth of television ads supporting Steve Driehaus.

Driehaus ads will air for one more week ....

The DCCC said they decided to pull the ads after the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) pulled out from investing in television ads.

The DCCC will continue to support get out the vote efforts in the First Congressional District.

... It is possible that the Casino won't be built because of the economy.
... A friend of mine in SE Indiana says that the casinos are hard hit and this is hurting the surrounding neighbors.

Vlasta:  Richard Holbrook is in Bosnia...  They really botched that situation.  For centuries they lived in peace with each other.  .... But now Serbia is going nuts against gays.

Ellen  A federal judge said the "don't ask don't tell" in the military is unconstitutional.

Judy:  they are turning over our presence in Iraq to the State Dept.  does this make sense?
Viddle:  nothing wrong with that.

Jonathan:  I've been working the Renaissance Festival, in costume, pushing the kids' ride.  It's really fun.  This weekend is the last.  About $17 ticket.

Mira:  anyone going to the Bioneers Conference?  I am doing a break out session, movement to get connected with earth.

Vlasta:  I saw this guy running for governor of NY... A clip of him complaining of gay person.
... Sat Oct 30, Jon March for Sanity in D.C.  Ariana Huffington has pledged to provide transport to anyone who wants.

....
Charles:  I am working to test whether urban agriculture is viable.  We have 7 gardens in people's back yards on Enright and neighboring streets.  It is a Community Supported Agriculture.  Greens and roots in spring; tomatoes, corn, peppers etc. in summer; now in fall we have squash, apples, pears, broccoli, greens.
We have 40 share holders, about 80 people.  Less than 1/2 acre using intensive gardening techniques.  Raised beds.  ... We have two trainees.
We are breaking even this year.  For about $25,000 we got it going.  Each share member is about $500.  And we have done a little fund raising.  Also got a grant from the Meshewa foundation, Turner Farm.  Bonnie Mitsui .  {http://www.turnerfarm.org/index.html}   And trainees are supported by Volunteers for America Program.
It is almost self sustaining.  We are finishing our second year.
I think it is important work.  The costs of food is rising and will rise more.  Food is local and fresh.  It could be important for people who don't have enough money for fresh food.
At present it is progressive type people involved.  We'd like to have it accessible to low income people.  There are such in the neighborhood.
The share is for 27 weeks of food.  About $20 / week.
There are Transition Town folks in the CSA; and Enright EcoVillage is attempting to be a transition town.
We'd like to have a community owned car.
(Ellen: have  you yourself earned a living wage?)  No.  to make a living wage we'd have to have double the amount of garden space.  We are having a hard time finding enough space.  ... Some of our labor is done by our share holders.

Mr. G.:  ...  Private communication.  Not for publication.

Vlasta:  I was in court this morning;  I am fighting the county.  ... Ham. Co. municipal court.  I saw a man in court via TV...  Not a judge but a  magistrate.  Goering, the treasurer is suing a bunch of people.  Most of them weren't present.  ... Then they called me.  I have till Dec 8 to make my case; unpaid taxes.  I feel they cheated me; they over charged me.  I am going to prove that they actually owe me money.  I am going to link it to the purchase of river front property by Castellini.

Debbi:  my childhood dentist has developed a supplement that prevents and cures and minimizes recurrences of cancers.  I will start taking it immediately.  8 oz bottle, 3 or 4 months for 149$. (see article below in blue Articles sect'n.)

~ end of table notes ~

Hugs to all,

Ellen

League of Women Voters'
Panel on "Innovations in Voting"

Wednesday, October 20, 2010, 7 - 9 PM
Xavier University Schiff Family Conference Center, Cintas Center
1624 Herald Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45207.  Open to the public.

Presented by the Woman's City Club, this forum comes just in time for this election season -- when progressives are worrying about getting people to the polls and voting for candidates striving to improve the lives of everyone, not just the well off.

An expert panel will elaborate on innovative voting methods that endeavor to overcome low voter turnout and inequalities in the exercise of the citizen's right to vote. Among the reforms to be discussed are mail-in balloting, mandatory voting, and weekend voting, methods proposed and practiced in other states and countries.  The panel may address other topics affecting citizen access to voting and voting choice.

Jane Anderson, Political Science Department, UC, will moderate.  Panelists are Gene Beaupre, Director for Government Relations, XU; Michael Cioffi, attorney, Blank Rome LLP; and William Woods, President, AIR, Inc. & chair, Common Cause Ohio. Caleb Faux, Executive Director, Hamilton County Democratic Party and Alex Triantafilou, Chairman, Hamilton County Republican Party will respond briefly to the speakers' remarks from the point of view of their political parties. Lori Nuckolls, lawyer and WCC board member, organized the event.

This is the schedule – 7 PM, registration and socializing; panel and respondents; 7:30 – 8:30; 8:30, time for audience questions and comments.   So come and bring your diverse perspectives and searching questions to share!

If you're not familiar with Woman's City Club, check us out at our website: womanscityclub.org. We would love to see you out here Saturday! :)

Best,
Scott

I did 4.5 hours of canvassing last weekend and it was inspiring.  I handed out lit, I knocked on doors and talked to anyone who answered.  It was clear that minds were changed by my personal appeal.  I am not the most knowledgeable person, but I sincerely and passionately believe that we should send the Dem. Ticket into office this  November.  If  you are concerned, please know that canvassing works!  Ellen

Canvass for Driehaus, Fisher, and other Dem. Candidates EVERY Saturday at 11 or at 1:00 .  Show up at the office at 11 am or 1 pm. (I'll be doing Saturdays at 11.) This is the MOST effective way to help the campaign.  So important to support the President's team.  So important to elect Democrats to the leadership positions in Columbus because they will do the redistrictingfor the next decade!  ellen

Dems. Campaign Office at Knowlton's Corner

4015 Hamilton Avenue, Northside (Knowlton's Corner)  formerly Shoetopia location.  Right at the corner of Blue Rock. (Across the st. from old Crazy Ladies' Bookstore)

Now we have regular hours from 1 PM to 9 PM, Monday through Saturday. Right now,  we're using  614-477-6835 as the "office number." Our biggest need right now is to get volunteers to staff the office, so we have to call lots of people to get them to come by and sign up.

Thanks for your interest,

Mary-Pat Hester

Want to do a terrific service?  Stop in the HQ at Knowlton's Corner between 1 and 8 pm, help them make calls. Fun and important.  Ellen

Together we CAN get GMOs banned from the US.  Europe was able to do it over a decade ago without any government assistance. All they did was educate the consumers, and that was enough pressure on the food industry to drop their ploys.  Please understand that the VAST majority of people in the US do not want GM foods, so this is an EASY battle to win.
The Institute for Responsible Technology (IRT) has created a variety of tools that will make it easier for you to choose non-GM foods, and this is the way to eradicate GMO's from your local store. If no one wants to buy them, stores can't sell them, and will simply stop ordering them. Food manufacturers will have to adjust and quickly change their ingredients or risk losing their business.

Dear Wonderful Martin Luther King Chorale Singers,

It is the time of year when we gather to imagine the world Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was able to envision.

King saw the beauty that emerges when we all become drum majors for justice, when we step out in freedom's name, when we work for peace and religious tolerance, when we speak out against bigotry and endless spending on war rather than the social uplift of all people.

We have much work to do. Let us join together in song to broadcast hope and courage with a message bigger than each of us individually. Let's raise our joyfilled voices for justice. Let's send out a ringing, resonant choral endorsement of empathy and compassion.

Walk the Journey! Pass the Torch! Embrace the Dream

Rehearsals begin on  Tuesday, November 9 at the House of Joy, at 7:00.

Rehearsals are every other week in 2010:

2011:

About the product:
http://www.polymva.com/ (website of AMARC Enterprises, worldwide exclusive provider of Poly-MVA; includes Spanish translation)

Poly-MVA is a uniquely formulated combination of minerals, vitamins and amino acids designed to support cellular energy production and promote overall health. Poly-MVA also replaces specific nutrients that may be depleted during certain therapies.
A patented dietary supplement with over 15 years of clinical laboratory research and testing, Poly-MVA is a revolutionary product and the first in a remarkable new category of supplement called lipoic acid palladium complexes (LAPd).
Poly-MVA is the first product to come out of the new field of electrogenetics, which studies and describes the energy requirements, energy exchanges, and electrical communication that allow DNA signaling and communication in our cells.  While an in-depth explanation involves interactions that bridge the fields of chemistry, physics and biology, the mechanism of Poly-MVA can also be explained in more common physiological terms.
Poly-MVA maintains and enhances the function of mitochondria, the main source of energy within cells.  In healthy cells using aerobic respiration, Poly-MVA not only protects these cells from damage but enhances their function and action. The clinical effects of Poly-MVA have been proven in laboratory studies, with countless patients as well as in doctor's clinics and hospitals nationwide.

Poly-MVA: An Outcome-Based Investigation <http://www.polymva.com/blog-news/75/poly-mva-an-outcome-based-investigation/
Board Certified Oncologist Dr. James W. Forsythe M.D., H.M.D., speaks to practitioners at a previous American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine International Congress. He shares results of a recently completed outcome-based investigation on various (18 types) Stage IV Cancers with 212 patients over a 3-year period, in which he observed a 56 % overall positive response rate. Dr. Forsythe found that Poly-MVA appears to be a safe and effective natural food supplement for palliative assistance in Stage IV cancer patients.  Presentation slides accompany recording.  (Note:  In a live teleseminar interview 8/26/10, Dr. Forsythe disclosed that in all Stage 4 adult cancers he studied, protocols including Poly-MVA resulted in 4-5-year survival rates of 48%--compared with 2% for conventional therapies.)

About the inventor & the science behind the formulation:
http://www.electrogenetics.net/
Electrogenetics is the basis for designing medicines that can short circuit the electrical charges in cancer cells and produce their selective electrocution.

Electrogenetics describes the energy requirements, energy exchanges, and electronic circuits, which allow gene reactions to occur in the living state.
We will shortly describe the major intracellular and extracellular polymers of the tissue oscillation amplifier circuit.  Also the electronic identities of key biopolymers. This will include the major: inductance, capacitance, dielectric transmitter, and electric ground; also the resonant frequencies.

Dr. Merrill Garnett is the founder and director of Garnett McKeen Laboratory, Inc. Holding a D.D.S. from New York University, and graduate study in chemistry and biochemistry, Dr. Garnett has had research laboratories at the Central Islip State Hospital, Waldemar Medical Research Foundation, Northport Veterans' Administration Medical Center, and the High Technology Incubator of The State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Dr. Garnett's principal laboratory discoveries reveal the presence of corollary dynamics of the genetic code by which specific DNA coded segments and cell membranes exchange ultra-low frequency sinusoidal electrical currents. According to his theory, these pulsed currents are the basis of all physiological pulses and determine the polarization, charge and folding of enzymes, nucleic acids and membrane phospholipids. The restoration of these charge transfer pathways form the basis of several new methods of medicinal management.

Investigators at the University of Utah and Columbia University have collaborated in studies of his compound, DNA Reductase. This is the first non-toxic chemotherapeutic agent, a liquid crystal complex of palladium and lipoic acid. Other new drugs are also under development. Dr. Garnett has been issued three United States patents related to the treatment of tumors and psoriasis.

What is also noteworthy about his approach:  They send blood samples (NOT tumor biopsies!) to one of 3 labs in the world (in Germany, Greece & Korea) that deconstruct one's DNA, then test it against common chemotherapy agents to assess one's metabolic "sensitivity" to them (much like testing bacteria for sensitivity to antibiotics).  From this, they can select those agents that will WORK in a given individual--& then they administer it at 1/10th the usual dosage to eliminate toxic side effects! (particularly when given in conjunction with Poly-MVA).

p.s. – When it was revealed during Dr. Sanchez's teleseminar interview that Dr. Garnett was the inventor of Poly-MVA, I gasped:  he was mydentist in Farmingdale, L.I., NY, in the late 1960's, keeping me entranced with his tales of energy, entropy & chemistry as I sat in his dental chair! (He used to joke that he did dentistry to "support his habit"—of medical research!)  He directed me to Waldemar Medical Research Foundation, where I spent two glorious summers in NSF programs for high school students. Under his mentorship, I did a Westinghouse Science Talent Search project that won us both national awards. He was instrumental in nurturing my love of the biological sciences—for which I will be eternally grateful. I have the utmost faith & confidence in the brilliance & integrity of this indefatigable researcher who has dedicated the better part of his life to this work, exploring more than 30,000 compounds before discovering Poly-MVA.  Thank you, Dr. Garnett, for your gifts to the world!!  - Dr. Debbi
